About This Course

This course offers a structured exploration of our Solar System—from its origins and dynamic structure to the diverse planets, moons, and small celestial bodies that inhabit it. Learners will discover the unique characteristics of the inner and outer planets, understand the forces that shape space environments, and explore emerging evidence of habitability and the potential for life beyond Earth. The course also highlights key milestones in space exploration and looks ahead to humanity’s future among the stars.

Through engaging units and thematic sections, students will build a foundational understanding of planetary science, astronomy, and space exploration technologies. By the end, they will develop the ability to compare planetary systems, analyze celestial phenomena, and understand the scientific and technological challenges of future space missions.

Requirements

Learners should have a basic understanding of middle to high school-level science, including general concepts in physics (such as gravity, motion, and energy), and basic Earth science (atmosphere, weather, geological structures). Familiarity with the scientific method and general curiosity about space, planets, and exploration will support success in the course
